This small forest is located just outside the village on Foy in Belgium. It was the location where Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division were based during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. The exploits of Easy Company were made famous by the television series "Band of Brothers" (based on the Stephen Ambrose book of the same name) first broadcast in 2001 which followed Easy Company from basic training through D-Day in Normandy to Austria in 1945.
