Canfield,Hampshire Sunday 6th June 2016 Police have closed the northbound carriageway of the A3M junction 1 for Clanfield following a serious collision. Traffic is being asked to leave at Junction 2. The Closure effect the carriage way up to the A272 Petersfield South. Road is not expect to open before the morning rush hour. The collision happened at around 11pm on Sunday evening. It involves a single vehicle and a pedestrian that was walking in the unlit carriageway Police have advised motorists to use alternative routes whilst they carry out collision investigation work, which is likely to last until the early hours of the morning . Signed diversions are in place. Sergeant Andrew Gwyer from the Totton Roads Policing who is in charge of the investigation said " I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it. I would ask drivers to check their in-car camera footage to see if the man has been captured on it.
