This resort dates its origin back to a monastery foundedby Colomban, an Irish monk, towards the end of thesixth century. A goodly portion of the original monas-tery buildings are still in existence. There are fifteen springs, the property of the FrenchGovernment, the waters containing salt, iron, arsenic andmanganese and are radio-active. TREATMENT—Mainly external. RECOMMENDED in cases of rheumatism, arthritis,anaemia and nervous diseases; womens diseases. SEASON—From the 1st of June to the 15th of Sep-tember.
