Two loadmasters assigned to the 1st Special Operations Squadron sit on the ramp of an MC-130J Commando II before a memorial flight on Feb. 26, 2022, on Kadena Air Base, Japan. The memorial flight took place off the coast of the Philippines in honor of those on board when an MC-130E assigned to the 1st SOS, call sign STRAY 59, crashed in 1981 during exercise SPECWAREX 81.
