Farms have been hit with a shortage of the migrant workers that Britain relies on to bring in the vegetable and salad crops. This shortage means that farms are now pooling workers, transporting them from farm to farm as required. The UK requires about 80,000 seasonal workers to pick the vegetable harvest and virtually all come from Eastern Europe.
