Selingue, Mali, 28th April 2015; Moussa Kane, 18, with wood he has cut on his donkey cart. He started cutting wood six years ago. He will sell this timber for 4,000 CFA. This particular timber was already cut by miners in the mining area. He realises that uncontrolled wood cutting will damage the forest and is thinking about cooking with gas. He also works part-time in the mines. Last year he made 750,000 CFA in the mines and built his parents a new house.
