These beds have an^formal edging of Stachys lanata, one of the most usefulof plants for grey effects. Through it come whiteTulips in irregular patches. The long border has also Tree Peonies planted abouttwo and a half feet from the edge. Partly to give thebed a sort of backbone, and partly to shelter the TreePeonies, it has some bushes of Veronica Tr aver si andone or two Leycesteria formosa. In the middle of the. oO hi o hft*
