For doors andpanel work the cedar is much esteemed on account of its beauty whenhighly polished, and the Douglas fir is almost unsurpassed forstrength and durability. The trees grow to enormous size, and arefree from all blemishes. It is estimated that the mills of this Provinceproduced last year 450,000,000 feet of lumber, 325,000,000 shingles and95,000,000 lath. The value of lumber exported during the last fiscalyear is $325,881. —27—. Y. M. C. A.
