Canis Lupus, the wolf, has a long head,pointed nose, ears erect and sharp, long legs wellclothed with hair; tail bushy and bending down,with the tip black ; head and neck ash colored;body generally pale brown tinged with yellow :sometimes found white, and sometimes entirelyblack. He is larger and fiercer than a dog. Hiseyes sparkle, and- there is a great degree of furyand wildness in his looks. When lie walks hedraws up his claws, to prevent his tread frombeing heard.
