A single candle lit in the catacombs of Powazki Cemetery, Warsaw, Poland. During All Saints and All Souls thousands of Poles visit graves of ancestors to light candles and offer prayers. At historically important cemeteries such as Warsaw's Powazki, numerous people use the opportunity to also visit the graves of important figures from the country's past. Powazki is considered the most important cemetery in Poland in that sense, and is the resting place of aristocrats and political leaders, artists, musicians and writers as well as a memorial for the victims of WWII and other national tragedies.
