You are then placed upon a stately piece of fur-niture under an immense window that you fear may fall onyou, until you are distracted by the mysterious person, whonoisily places near you a curious object that may be a hugefan, or it may be a new kind of umbrella. Next he runs andhides behind a formidable looking affair that suddenly startstoward you with terrifying speed, recedes a few inches, as iffor a new start, and again approaches, with groans and shrieks
