The Cultural Quarter near the Potsdammerplatz in Berlin Kulturforum is a collection of cultural was built in1950 and 1960s

The Kulturforum was the cultural centre of former West Berlin and played an important role in the city's postwar history. Highly promoted and located near the Berlin Wall, it was developed as a political symbol of West Berlin's cultural growth and vitality in hard times. Its urban design is still in line with the original plans of architect Hans Scharoun in the 1960s. The Kulturforum site remains a testimony to the period before German unification
