A flintlock pistol, Karlsbad, circa 1740. Two-stage barrel, octagonal becoming round after a baluster with smooth bore in mm calibre. A worn engraving on the breech, with remnants of gold inlay. Engraved flintlock inscribed "F. Polz" on the lockplate. Carved full stock with a horn nose cap and gildt brass furniture decorated with rocaille. Pommel in the shape of an eagle's head. Metal surfaces have some patina. Stock has shrinkage crack and minor damage near the lock. Forearm also has a crack. Length 37 cm. historic, historical, 18th century, civil handgun,
