Flowers.— Solitary on long peduncles, brownish. Calyx.—An inflated, curved, yellowish-green, veiny tube, en- larged above the ovary, con- tracted at the throat; the flat border brownish-purple and obscurely three-lobed. Corolla.—Wanting. Stamens.—Six anthers and no filaments, in united pairs under the three lobes of the short, thick stigma. Fruit.—A many-seeded, six-lobed capsule.
