It is proposed to send upregistration balloons to dif-ferent altitudes during eachmonth with a view to estab-lishing the laws relative tothe variation, with theheight of the pressure, hu-midity, and idea is, generally speak-ing, to collect once a monthdata that shall permit ofconstructing, so to speak, with horizontal curvesof the thermic, barometric,and hygrometric states ofthe atmospheric ocean on agiven day by figuring along-side of the isobars at thesea (isotherms, etc.), theisobars at 5,000 meters (16,-405 feet), and, if possible,at 1,000 meters (11,281 feet),etc., by making use of thedata afforded by the bal-loons and of those furnishedby mountain
