The water, which is pure andabundant, comes from numerous springs high up on themountain side. There is also a mineral spring, the waterof which has proven highly beneficial in cases of dyspep-sia and constipation. There are excellent physicians inattendance, and baths of all kinds, viz., salt, electric,Turkish, vapor, etc., are furnished. The hotel, with acapacity of one hundred and fifty, is open the year WEBSTER SPRINGS, W. VA. At Addison, the county-seat of Webster County, ,in the beautiful valley of the Elk River, surrounded bynoble hills, at an altitude of 2,240 feet, lies WebsterSprings, fast becoming a popular resort on account ofits salt sulphur baths. Although the springs have beenknown for many years, it has only been within the pastfew years that they have been readily accessible. Now itis different; the long stage coach ride has been supersededby the railroad, and a large and spacious hotel, beauti-fully located, has supplanted the former meager accom-modations, The new Webster Springs Hotel is one of the bestappointed hotel resorts in the two Virginias, and isprobably the largest hotel in West Virginia. Withinthe past year it has been rebuilt with a new dining-room■capable of seating two hundred persons, a sun-parlor, aballroom and a spacious exchange.
