NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BAHRAIN (Sept. 22, 2021) – A Marine assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), clears and searches the fleet ocean tug USNS Catawba (T-ATF 168) during a visit, board, search, and seizure exercise, Sept. 22. The 11th MEU is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
