Chiang Saen, Thailand - August 04 2012: Old Thai sat next to a sign at the Golden Triangle indicating the directions of the Thai and Laos borders. On the opposite bank of the Mekong river, is the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone in Laos. This special economic zone is a 99-year lease made from the Laotian government to the Chinese-owned Kings Romans Group. The group obtain 10,000 hectares with 3,000 of those as a duty-free zone. The group built many casinos there to attract wealthy Chinese (Gambling in forbidden in China).
