Itforms a densely-branched shrub, 6 to 7 feet high,with obovate or oblong leaves ^ to L§ inch long,and usually toothed above the middle. Theflowers are white, and borne on very slenderstalks. Judging from numerous dried specimenscollected in various localities in the provinces of. James Veitch & Sons numerousintroductions from China through Mr. Wilson,are two exceedingly neat, shrubby species ofSpiraea, both belonging to the same group as theIndian S. canescens, and characterised by havingthe flowers in compojnd corymbs, terminatinglateral brancblets. Dried specimens were ex-hibited, with numerous others, to illustrate Nicholsons lecture on Hardy Trees andShrubs, at the meeting on April 7 of the RoyalHorticultural Society. One of them was originally Hupeh and Szechuen, this will prove an elegantshrub of a highly floriferous character.
