A late 19th century photograph of St Mary's Abbey overlooking Howth Harbour, County Dublin, Ireland. King Sitric of Dublin founded the earliest church here in 1042, replaced around 1235 by an abbey, rebuilt again in the late 14th century. The current ruins date from the 15th and 16th centuries.
