A photograph of the lighthouse tender, AU CYPRESS, which was attached to the 6th Lighthouse District covering the coast of the South Atlantic States. This tender was transferred to the Navy Department in 1917 by order of the President. It is a twin screw stemmer with a steel hull, measuring 190' in length and displacing 1080 tons. It has a speed of 1000 horsepower and can accommodate 6 officers and 27 men.
