Delio, together with two other Ital-ians, undertook to crowd Shields fromthe sidewalk. Shields objected tothe advances made by the strangers,and after a short argument Delio wassaid to have drawn a knife, which wasused freely on the Irishman until suchtime as the latter got his fists work-ing, after which he laid the three Ital-ians side by side in the snow and pro-ceeded to notify the police and coron-er.
