Loddiges's arboretum, we should consider it to be only a variety of B. ferox. Flowers solitary, terminal, white, large. Peduncles and calyxes tomentose. Fruit globose, large, orange red. {Dec. Prod.) Ever- green. China. Height 5 ft. to 6 ft. Introduced in 1795. Flowers large, showy, white, solitary, nearly sessile; June to October
