The NASA Orion Launch Abort System successfully launches atop a Northrop Grumman rocket booster from Launch Pad 46 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station July 2, 2019 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The flight test proved that the abort system can pull crew to safety in the unlikely event of an emergency during ascent opening the way to a launch of the new Orion launch system.
