Coyote (Canis latrans) with open mouth on sand dune at night under starry sky, Galveston, Texas. This population has genes of red wolf (Canis rufus).

Many coyotes (Canis latrans) in the southern US, including the Galveston population, are natural hybrids of the nearly-extinct red wolf (Canis rufus) and harbor up to 69% of its “ghost” DNA in their genomes. My idea was to picture animals in their environment with night sky and make something “ghostly” combining flashes with long exposure.
