Association's market committee was held in conjunction witli some of the growers April 1, at the store of Podesta & Baldocchi. There were no outstanding features during last week's activities. Prices on most items were steadily maintained. The season for hyacinths has about passed, but enough other spring offer- ings are being received to counteract this. Of the spring offerings, Japanese cherry blossoms and California iris proved the most novel. The former cleaned up in splendid style. Locally grown snapdragons are offered in larger quantities, and some of the shades de- veloped make for a ready sale at this time. Late narcissi are showing well, and one grower is making deliveries of an unnamed, two-shaded yellow type, which exceeds in size and strength of stem anything else seen this season. Tulips are plentiful and there has been a notable increase in the stocks of cut flowers. The cut of locally grown roses is de- cidedly heavier than usual. With the exception of a few reds and some Cecile Bninner, California shipments have about ceased for the season. Local growers are not supplying enough car- nations to meet the demand, but other northwestern growing sections are able to take care of this short
