Computer artwork of a MQ-1 Predator spyplane. This is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is piloted remotely. It is metres long. This unit is armed with a Hellfire laser-guided missile (black, under the right-hand wing of the aircraft). A camera is mounted at the front of the aircraft, below the nose (far right). The aircraft is powered by the propeller at the rear. The Predator systems were developed in the 1990s for the US military. The MQ-1 version has been operating since early 2005.
