Benzen molecule

Benzolmolekül (Benzen); benzen molecule (computer generated image). Benzene is an aromatic hydrocarbon with the molecular formula C6H6, sometimes abbreviated Ph–H. Benzen is a known carcinogen, therefore, its use as an additive in gasoline is now limited, but it is still an important industrial solvent and precursor in the synthesis of drugs, plastics, synthetic rubber, and dye stuffs. Benzene occurs in crude oil.
