Dubrovnik, Croatia - 10 Setember 2016 - no people in view; Dubrovnik is a historic Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea, in the region of Dalmatia. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea, a busy seaport and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The prosperity and grandeur of the city was historically based on maritime trade; although it was demilitarised in the 1970s, it was shelled during the 1991 war following the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. Today, the beautiful Old Town is surrounded by stunningly preserved defensive walls, and contains many notable historic churches, museums, palaces and monasteries. This historic legacy, combines with a beautiful climate and crystalline surrounding seas, is leading to its inundation by tourism. Its popularity has been further fostered by its use as a prominent filming location for Game of Thrones, where it featured as parts of Kings scene could come straight out of the TV epic, couldn't it?
