Baigneuses, plage du Pouldu, 1899. Bathers on the beach at Pouldu. The standing figure is the painter's wife, Marthe Meurier, who holds her newborn baby Bernadette. Near her on the right, a woman wearing a straw hat undresses the painter's other daughter, three-year-old Noële. Marthe is also represented lying naked on the sand to the left, while another woman removes her corset.
