Dinner of the Show Committee. The labors of the joint committee of management of the 1917 flower show were brought to a close with a business meeting and banquet at the Hotel Bilt- more, Thursday evening, April 12. There was a full attendance. The guests were Messrs. Korbel and Colwell, publicity agents; Arthur Herrington, exhibition manager, and William Delano, the well- known architect and landscape artist. T. A. Havemeyer presided and in the early course of the proceedings pressed upon Charles H. Totty the acceptance of a diamond pin, a mark of appreciation by his fellow members of his work in connection with the flower shows. Eec- ord of the work of individual members of the committee was not wanting. A vote of thanks to the secretary was unanimous, as was a similar vote to Treasurer F. E. Newbold. A stand- ing vote of thanks was given Chairman Havemeyer. The arrangement of the next show was the prime object of a discussion, which amply supplied the entertainment fea- ture of the dinner. Each member of the committee was ripe with suggestions, and Mr. Delano capped them all with some that might be considered ultra- professional. Eichard Holloman an- nounced that by the time of the next show there will be a subway station at the entrance to the Grand Central Palace. The table was handsomely decorated with flowers by G. E. M.
