This curved entrance was thought to protect the occupants from severe weather.
The remains of an entrance to a hut at Ty Mawr settlement Holyhead Mountain, Anglesey. Both the hut and the entrance would be roofed by poles and thatch. It is thought the reason for such an entrance was to protect the occupants from the weather. The date of the settlement is from 500 BC to Roman times.
