SASEBO, Japan (Mar. 10, 2017) Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo community members gathered to commemorate the 2011 Great Tohoku Earthquake victims March 11, 2017. This year marks the sixth anniversary of the disaster and CFAS honored the victims with a ceremony that included flower laying, a commemoration and moment of silence that was attended by almost 100 people. The earthquake and subsequent tsunami resulted in the deaths of 15,884 people across 20 prefectures.
