The discoloration of the mucous membrane of thevagina and of the vaginal introitus is usually most marked uponthe inner surface of the labia majora and upon the fold of vagi-nal mucous membrane on the anterior wall that comes into view when the labia are separated (Plate 6,Figs. 3 and 4). It is occasionallyconfined to the fossa navicularis(Plate 6, Fig. 2), or to the deeperportions of the vaginal rugae.
