Evgenii is 22 years old, Russian, and is part of the CEAR Refugio refugee programme for 5 months. He fled his native Moscow because he received death threats for being gay. It all started with a video he posted on his YouTube channel talking about how there are gay people in the Russian army and that it's OK. This was followed by his Instagram page where he posts photos and videos of himself with make-up Russia there is an application where you can search for a person's name and all the phone numbers of citizens who have this person listed in their phone book appear as a result. The owner of the flat that Evgenii was renting had him listed with the address of the house, which is why two people were able to obtain his address. One day 2 strangers knocked on the door of Evgenii's flat and entered to beat him and threaten to burn him for being gay. In panic, the young man moved out of the house until he received a call from the Russian Ministry of Social Affairs warning him about the content he was posting on his social networks and threatening him, which was the last straw and he decided to flee the country. The young man says that now he feels better about his sexuality because Spain is more open but he feels sad because being Russian nowadays is practically an insult and he hates Putin, does not support the war, has many Ukrainian friends and supports them but in the eyes of society he is bad.
