The tower offers an excellent observation point for the surrounding terrain and is easily visible at a distance of 10 kilometers from the west. The Tower was originally part of the kingdom of Hess-Nassau but was destroyed in a war with Sweden and later damaged by fire about 80 years ago. In the photograph, we can see Col. Russell C.
