The varieties we offer are the best of their color, and of proved hardiness that will thrive in any ordinary garden soil. In pruning out, cut all weak growth and cut back the strong canes to within 9 inches of the ground for large flowers, but if quantity is desired, leave the canes 2 or 3 feet high accord- ing to strength. Full, double, high centered flowers of dazzling scarlet, shading to a deeper red as they develop. Vigorous, free flowering. SUNBURST—A vigorous grower with erect or slightly spreading habit and dark bronze foliage. The flowers are of medium size, full and of fine, elongated cup form ; color a superb cadmium-yellow- orange in the center.
