A German two-handed sword, circa 1580 Massive, slightly ridged blade. The long ricasso has two split guards with decorative grooves on both sides. Quillons have split rolled ends in the shape of fleurs-de-lys. Two large guard rings with interior guard plates. Cord-wrapped grip with leather covering. Double-conical pommel with six surrounding grooves. Grip cover and pommel are replacements.
