World War 2 re-enactors shelter beneath a P-51 Mustang during the Flying Legends show at RAF Duxford

A P-51 Mustang, one of the many World War 2 aircraft stationed at RAF Duxford sits under inclement skies as the rain falls on it's metalwork. Underneath it's wings crouch to WW2 re-enactors in authentic military costume who were taking part in the Flying Legends Airshow held at the venue in July each year. The aircraft is a rare example of these surviving warbirds and is painted in the markings of Captain Frank E. Birtciel's aircraft in which he served with the 343rd Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter Group based at Wormingford and has the noseart (on port-side) carrying the name "Miss Velma"
