Clinical Notes.—Female, age 56, white, native American, family historynegative for tuberculosis and cancer. For twenty years the patient has beenmore or less constipated. For the three months previous to her entrance tothe hospital, there has been no movement of the bowels without the aid ofa cathartic. During the last week, a movement has been almost impossible toobtain. For the last year the patient has been subject to attacks of pain in. These attacks recurred about every two weeks. During thelast four months they became more frequent until at the time of her entranceto the hospital, there was an almost constant pain in the right lower patient had not, however, lost weight. She had always been a greatlover of outdoor life and has been able, until within a few days of her ad-mission, to work hard in the garden. Of late, however, she noticed while atwork, that she became tired somewhat more easily than usual. Nevertheless,the patient was not alarmed about her condition. She made a successfulattempt to conceal her illness from her friends up to the day of her entranceto the hospital. Pathological Report.— (Surgical Pathology 17,300.)
