Christmas was launched in Liverpool with a magical lantern parade through the city centre. Hundreds of children from around the city region lit up the city with lanterns that they had created through workshops with the Lantern Company. The event was also accompanied by the Christmas illuminations switch on and was also attended by winner of TV show Dancing on Ice and X Factor contestant Ray Quinn.
