Anti-fracking protesters at Barton Moss block the access road to the drilling rig with two protesters using a 'lock-on' device
Anti-fracking protesters at Barton Moss block the access road to the drilling rig with two protesters using a 'lock-on' device consisting of several steel tubes surrounding each other and the protesters hands locked together inside the inner tube. The protests caused delays of up to 4 hours whilst the Protester Removal Team ( Police ) try to remove the device using cutting tools. The protesters refer to themselves as Protectors and their cam as the Barton Moss Protection Camp as they believe that fracking will cause serious damage to the environment and pollute the aquifers which will affect the quality of drinking water.
