A Japanese officer's kai-gunto, circa 1940. Blade shinogi-zukuri, ibuki-kissaki and flat torii-zori. San gunome hamon, ko-maru boshi, short kaeri. Muji hada. Slightly stained kesho polish. Copper habaki with yasurime. Smooth tsuba with o-seppa with Amida yasurime. Nakago with one mekugi-ana, o-sujikai yasurime, signed Masahiro (?) Saku. Blackened tsuka covered with same, sakura menuki and cotton wrap. Metal saya with two suspension rings and reworked ishime lacquer.
