The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) primary mirror nears completion at Perkin-Elmer's Optical Facility at Wilton, Connecticut. The mirror has just been coated with a special reflective surface, so technicians must wear masks and special suits to maintain absolute cleanliness. The HST is due for launch on the space shuttle in late 1988.
