Canada Geese on a lake, one of several lakes, at the Attenborough Nature Reserve, Nottinghamshire, England, UK

The reserve, covering 145 hectares, is a complex of flooded gravel pits and islands excavated between 1929 and 1967. It was established in 1966 and the process of recolonisation since then has created a wide range of aquatic and waterside habitats. The nature reserve is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). This image is exclusive to Alamy.
