X. ^V Misplaced [T(iR : In a certain roundlioiise the locomotivefitter put up an air tank with a specialtype of brackets shown in the accompany-ing drawing. When the job was done itwas found that the tank was three inchestoo high. If, however, he fails to seewhere the remedy can be applied withoutdrilling and tapping new holes in thetank, Fig. B will show the method in theparticular instance whereby a rectificationw-as made and the tank lowered to theproper position.
