Young boab (Adansonia gregorii) trees by a yellow-flowering kapok bush (Cochlospermum fraseri) on Telegraph Hill, Parry Lagoons, East Kimberley
Adansonia gregorii and Cochlospermum fraseri are native to north-west Australia and are important trees in Indigenous culture. Parry Lagoons near Wyndham is a RAMSAR-listed wetland in the East Kimberley that provides important habitat for migrating birds. Kapok bush flowers can be are said to appear when freshwater crocodiles are laying their eggs.
