Next comes Tilton, a neat and thriving. community, noted for its fine residences and well-kept thor-oughfares. In many respects, it is a thoroughly unique NewEngland center and has many pleasant surprises for the visitor,notably in respect to its architecture and public , it has an exceedingly interesting history of the ab-original era, the place at one time having been one of the moststrongly fortified headquarters of the Indians.
