The direct-current lines pass throughtile conduits for a distance of 200 yds. away from the building. and are then carried up to the pole line. The high-tensionlines are carried through the chute to the top of the buildingand are carried to the pole line from the rear. In this way nowires leave the building from the front or sides. The lightningarresters, of the Westinghouse low-equivalent type, are inmarble barriers at the base of the chute, and are accessible fromthe boiler room. The boilers installed are duplicates of those in the station at
