According to other authors, however, such differences do not exist (Aloia and Pengelley 1971, Belov and Semenova 1971) or if they do, they are the result of degeneration of the tissues. During torpor and in the normothermic state, the adrenergic innervation of the heart, as well as the concentration of noradrenaline, correspond to normal mammalian standards (Angelakos et al. 1971, Lew and Quay 1973).
